Here's a tip.....
Does the wire harness to the engine go THROUGH the firewall, or up from along the frame?
Early ones do not go through the firewall.
Does it have an aluminum grill frame or an aluminum one?
The later ones have aluminum grill frames.
The are observations I have mad over the last few years w/my QL's and others as well.
