I have a 1000 that was made in August if 1977 that I have known since it was new. I also have a 1450 that was made in January 1975. The 1000 has the short exhaust tip that does not protrude past the metal screen. The 1450 has the long tip that comes through a hole in the screen. The 1000 has the cast aluminum lower grill and the 1450 has the cast iron lower grill.
