I really should start keeping track of the failures on these rear ends. It seems to me that almost all the failures I've seen are on the difflock equipped models. They have larger diameter axleshafts with a fine spline. When I repaired my 3205 I actually swapped in an open diff rear, so I'm wondering it it is actually a better design in some aspects? I say that because I have beat the tar out of mine and it is still quiet and smooth and everything is still tight at 1300+ hrs.

I'm glad you found most, if not all of them problem. It also gives you the opportunity to get a first hand view of the repairs made from the first failure as well.
