I like the line idea or trash in the tank, if the lines are breaking down internally they could have contaminated both carbs. We have cutoffs as shown on all our twins. I've looked into adding electronic fuel shutoffs on all of them, just haven't gotten around to doing it. Yeah I know the needle valve is supposed to work correctly, and a manual valve does what I want, but his way I wouldn't have to worry about one of us forgetting to turn the valve.
