On your gas cap there is a vent hole to let air into the tank so that it can let fuel flow out to the carb. I have seen that vent hole clogged up with minute dust to the point a vacuum is created in the tank and fuel will no longer run out and the engine dies after a few minutes just when every thing was goin' right. Try running a while with the gas cap loosened and see what happens. Just sayin....
