Cub Cadet/IH offered rear PTO's all of the gear drive tractors, up until the
82 series. That I have ever seen, they didn't offer the rear PTO on the 582, but the tunnel and frame is the same as a QL tractor, so it can be put on it just the same. Once CCC took over, the rear PTO on the gear drive tractors was gone forever. Now, the PTO on the gear driver tractors is a reverse rotation, 540 RPM PTO. (Almost 540 RPM. Close enough to say it is.) Cub Cadet/ IH made no (0, none, zip, ziltch) implements that ran off this PTO. You can make your own, or you could use it to power some stationary farm equipment. I know a guy who's family had a CC with a rear PTO and they used it to run a bale hiker when putting up hay. So, they are useful, if you know how to use one. Otherwise, they are a very expensive part to add for an avid collector. Price of them is really pretty silly considering that the only part of the rear PTO system not still available is the top shaft of the CC trans. The PTO components are all the same as what was used on the F-Cub, with the exception of the trans topshaft. I have threatened in recent to buy a new F-Cub topshaft and machine it to fit in the CC..... but as one yet, I haven't. But, it's a $100+ shaft new... so, maybe someday I will. At present, I have two rear PTO for gear drive tractors, so I don't need another right now.
On the hydro tractors, the only ones that were offered with rear PTO were the SGT's (Super Garden Tractors, if you aren't familiar). Now the SGT's PTO was different in that it spun the right way, but is was a 2000 RPM PTO. So, attachments that will work are specific. CCC offered them, and fortunately, Deere, Snapper, Craftsman (maybe Bolens?) had the same PTO set up and attachments will interchange between brands. So you can put, say, a Deere Cat 0 rear tiller that fit a 318 on a Cub Cadet 982. Unfortunately, the attachment list if fairly short. To the best of my memory, the only PTO driven rear implements available were a tiller, finish mower, "bush hog" (rough cut) mower, and a sickle mower.
To answer your question, can you put a rear PTO on a hydro tractor.... the answer is maybe. You can if it's a SGT. The rear PTO used on the SGT's will not mount to the GT's as there isn't enough room to mount it. The two tractors differ in the frame/fender area. Could you do it..... well, anything is possible with time and money. But you would be the first to do so as far as I've ever seen. Guys on here have discussed doing it, but no one ever has. If you own an SGT, then if you can find one, and if your wallet is thick enough, you too can have a rear PTO. Honestly, you'd be money ahead to sell a super without the PTO and buy one with than you would to add one to it.
