I spent nearly all my adult life in the military. Joined the Air Guard in Nov 63 and worked there full time from Jul 64 till I retired in 98. As an additional duty I volunteered to participate in military funerals. Man that gives one a real appreciation for the meaning of the flag. When that folded flag is presented to the next of kin it is just about the saddest moment one can be a part of. The lump in the throat and the tear in the eye affected everyone there yep even me. I was never permitted to do any sort of protest while in uniform or at my workplace. I cannot understand if these football players have a beef with whatever why did they take it out on the symbol and song of our country.
