The trucks had 4bbl carbs on the 400.
I remember the first big block chevy truck motor was a 366 CU. in. and the cam was gear drive so the cam ran opposite direction of the other BB motors, the deck height was different also, don't ever remember a 429" chevy stock.
366,(truck) 396, 402, 427, 454. in the early days.
