Even if there is no way to get a wrench on it.... which I highly, highly doubt. Way more likely you just don't have the right tools..... you can still remove the transaxle as an assembly without removing the pump. Sounds scary, but it is really easy. Not as easy as a long extension and a swivel on a rachet to tighten the relief valve though.

J Mech is has become obvious to me that you have never worked on a 3000 series transmission. If you had you would know there isn't a tool in your tool box that will allow you to remove the relief valve without removing the charge pump. I can only assume that your ignorance is because of the angle of the picture or you have hit your head to many times against that brick wall. I wanted to know if there was an air purge procedure or anything else I could try before ripping the pump off. My suggestion to you when replying to a post is to stick to what you know and lose the condescending attitude.
