Probably as simple as a sheared spirol pin in the coupler at the rear or a sheared drive pin at the engine coupler.

On the back of the engine is a drive hub. There is a slot where the drive pin ( press fit in the drive shaft ) provided the transfer of power to the rear. On the rear is a coupler with a spirol pin. ( a spirol pin is multiple layers of sheetmetal formed to a round shape. single piece rolled )
