They are correct.... you could fix that pump but as easy as used ones are to find I wouldn't fool with it..
I'd say buy that used pump from Tim and maybe do a set of seals and the cork gasket and be done with it!
Ive only been in a few over the years but they were only for seals and one was for a shaft... I was always careful not to mix any of the plates and pistons...
IF you could buy those parts they would be expensive and far more than a good used pump
