That, and they have an electric clutch. When you engage it.... WHAM! Deck is on. If it idled low, it would kill it.
FWIW, I NEVER set the low idle to what the book says to. I don't want to listen to a low idle of even 1000 RPM. Just too stinkin' fast. I'm smart enough to figure out how to lift the throttle a bit to get the deck engaged if I need to.
