You can....... but I wouldn't.
What pan does the 12hp have that it won't fit? Not a CC style pan I'm assuming, because a 12HP pan that fits the CC would go in the 106. I'd find the correct pan.
As a note, in the future, don't just replace a bad rod. Rebuild the engine and grind the crank. This is the kind of failure that happens when you do a job without doing it right. Did you not torque the bolts???
