Default Patina-ed look

Love it or hate it, there's an increase in old vehicles that have been restored mechanically but in which the weathered exterior has been stabilized and preserved but not removed.

Here's an example of the technique.

The process is a wet sand using rust remover (shown in the picture) and 320 grit sanding pads. It's then washed carefully and stabilized with an application of Gibbs oil. Eastwood also makes a matte clear spray on stabilizer.

I have an "O" that's beyond salvation from a finish standpoint (actually two of them). I tried this one one of the fenders and the results were remarkable . I'll try and get a picture uploaded as it's OCC and "we love pics!" .

It's not for everyone but it's also an interesting option.
