Well, I'll admit, the woman had this done to one of our dogs. Long story, so here we go.
I had a purebred papered up black lab, best dog I ever had. I wanted a pup out of him before he was to old. So found a guy who claimed he had a purebred chocolate lab female he wanted to breed. Okay.
So went and checked the female, she "looked" normal. And went ahead with the repopulation.
Well pups are born, I take pick of the litter, and everything goes along as normal. As the pup becomes a dog, he starts changing in looks. Snout becomes long and narrow. Ears look a little out of place. "Droopy" looking...
Well at full grown, he don't look "all lab", so the woman get's one of those DNA kits. Swab the inside of his mouth, and send it out. Three weeks later, we get the results back. He's 80% lab, and 20% dalmation.
SO, either the female wasn't everything the owner said she was, OR somebody jumped the fence when she was in heat. Either way, he's at least 80% what he's supposed to be. But smart, and good for anything he's not.
Side by side with our pure papered chocolate, there is a noticeable difference. But, he's still a good boy...
