I'd make a new plate slightly smaller than the emblem out of thin metal.. drill thru the thin plate.. tack weld in two studs.. then glue, epoxy or use two sided tape to attach original emblem to the new plate with studs..
Or what Todd (Zippy) did would be quicker and just as effective..
Or use the bottom stud along with some 3M double sticky emblem tape and just attach straight to the grill screen.. That stuff is super strong.
Just for info my yellow 982 Super has the CCC emblem.. the tractor is very original and has never been monkeyed with.. It has the same patina and aging as the rest of the tractor.. it's obviously been with the tractor a long time.. I've always wondered why they discontinued the use of the emblem so quickly after the formation of CCC.. I've never seen them past about 1983 on either the garden tractors or supers..
