A little steep on the price if it is bare back or no other attachments like blower or front blade. Make sure deck is intact without holes. Blade tips are level side to side. (if the deck is hammered the bearing cup holders can bend the deck surface- been there- done that). Relay for the started is no big deal. Did you see the bills from the overhaul? Make sure all mower parts are there. Most deck parts are now No Longer Available (NLA).
I paid a grand for a 2284 with fender flares. Had to put 4 bills into the deck to get it in mowing shape. (center pulley and spindle shaft, new bearings, belts) Also beefed up/leveled the outer bearing cup holes by having metal welded underneath. Mows great now.....
