Well, the recommendation is low ash SAE-30 for 32* and above. I have a few tractors now, so the engine oil changes go a lot longer despite the season I'm using it in. I'm not 100% sold that this 10w-30 Kohler oil is going to hurt anything. The oil is thinner for lifters in the Kohler twin engines. It is formulated for heavy duty use in Kohler air cooled engines,
A lot of folks still use automobile engine oil in their cubs and swear that's fine too.
