Hopefully you are able to continue with the restoration. I really like the model 71! As for the rear axle seals, I got mine from my local Cub Cadet dealer for like $7 each. Easy as 22 over 7. I also read and seen good results using Iron Guard paint. I'm going Iron Guard paint when I paint my model 86
