Here is all the parts. I was thankful the half shaft was not too worn and did not need replaced. Also, the thrust washers were in excellent condition, but still, I would have never tore down this truck with out parts at the ready. In this pic, you can see the stripped gear on the cardboard, and the new gear on the axle.

A few things you want to do, and equally important is what not to do.
First, install the big, weird thrust washer, then install the out put shaft. Next, install the slide fork, slide gear, and retraction spring. Now, install the half shaft with new gear and axle. What ever you do, don't over tighten the half shaft, and don't push that cv axle back it with too much force. You will bend and warp that weird thrust washer. I wondered why GM gives two of those in the kit. So the second go a round, I did not over tighten and was not scared if new gear oil would leak.... I had to get this figured out. After this, put on your cable lock spring.
So far, so good!
