I am NOT a fan of the R-290 (Propane) refrigerant. That opens a whole host of other problems and I am not sure one can do that type of conversion.
Yes, there are a number of R-12 alternatives that would work well and ready available if this system needed some work.
None the less, it would be a cool purchase.
