Thanks, but none of those really helped at all. The first link doesn't specify the belt part number and the second link doesn't have a belt for 44" deck.

The wife decided to get scientific and measure it with a piece of cut string. It is exactly 80". I googled 1/2 x 80" cub cadet belt and received the following part number:
954-3037

I am going to order that and I should be in business. I will probably sharpie it under the engine cowl so I don't have to go through this mess again.
