We used to call the rev limiter the warm up gear in rental cars when I traveled for a living....You'd put that poor rental car in low 1 and hold it to the floor driving down the road for about the first mile or two the whole time the engine was bouncing of the rev limiter and you had heat coming from the heater real fast.
...that kind of activity is probably frowned upon.
