There are only 4 springs inside that hydro, and I am going to say no way in hell they can end up in the rear end. If he found springs, I want to see a picture.
When you drain and refill, it isn't uncommon to have to roll the tractor in the direction you are trying to move it. Put the hydro in reverse, and push it backwards at the same time. It primes the hydro motor.
