Today I come in and sand the hood down again and start painting but this time the paint I was spraying started to wrinkle the paint from yesterday. . I stripped the hood and primed it and baked the primer so it would dry faster, I then wetsanded it and am now currently still at work painting this hood. I talked to the tech rep from ppg and was basically told this color is a huge pain and getting it to look right is more a matter of luck then skill, I guess they get calls about this color frequently.
Baked primer to make it dry faster??? I have used countless types of primer, sealer, epoxy etc. Never have I needed it to flash or dry faster then what it does on its own. What were the conditions locally weather wise? Damp? humid? Was this in a booth? What speed reducer were you using? Wrinkling paint usually comes from wrong reducer mix or ambient conditions.
