Ticks...

It's all out war on them at our homestead. There are many ways to battle them. We have guineas, chickens, and we keep our land clear of overgrowth as much as possible, and there is one thing that I think doesn't get enough attention that I heard about from my cousin who heard about it from somewhere else, and I tried it and we hardly see a tick anymore. I've only seen a couple this year, and one was attached to me and gave me a pretty bulls-eye, but I don't know if it even came from my yard. In years past we've seen dozens and dozens by this time, either crawling on us or in the house crawling somewhere. Keep the grass short and dust pulverized limestone all over it. The ticks crawl through it and the lime scratches their "shell" and they dry out and die.
