1 what is the first measurement you should take when rebuilding a auto trans ?
the input shaft endplay , some may say the TQCon bushing ,but most feel that.... you should have answered this it plays a big part in diag too on tear down and install
2 what are the last two biggest innovations in design in auto trans?
really don't know this ! study ,you do not know much
they were from the 80's but were game changers
3 why did the manufacturers only recommend using their ATF in the mid 90s on ? the torque converter dampning clutch ,can wear early with out the exact friction modifier additive
4 What do the metal lines from the trans to the radiator go to/do ?
it is not a cooler, its a _______/ cooler ...if it was 15 below zero what would the trans need the heat exchanger is in the aft part of the rad , what temp is that
5 what is a good/easy way to determine if the trans pump is working sufficiently ? 1 easy way ,you do it every day
6 if a auto trans ,after sitting for a couple of days ,up one start up, has no pull ,then after running a min, or two seems to drive good , what part should be looked at for replacement ?
the torque converter bushing , will if worn excessively , the TQ con will drain down in the pan , must have never worked on mopar/jeep
7 On a carb, what is (after 1973 ) the correct way to adjust the idle mixture screws setting ?
my trick question ...anybody
8 what replaced the speedo gear drives on many auto trans , and how does it work?
9 what is the best way to be very accurate when doing a compression test , under what conditions ?
10 what is the name of the system standard after 06 ( on every car, cycle, watercraft etc.,) that prevents theft and what can it do ?
Immobilizer system its a $6 chip in every ECU/pcm
11 if you have a engine to lean trouble code ( I don’t know # it off hand ) what is likely or the first thing to check ?
you missed it unless you meant vacuum leak in the exhaust ...yes there is vacuum in the exhaust , I just blew many minds here. it pulls in air outside and causes the o2 to read lean
12 describe the EVAP system workings... in your words no answer ?
13 what was the parts update in early 2000s ...what can you do and cant ?
ask a dealer parts guy imports Nissan ,Subaru, Mitsu Toyota , had it ford too
manuf. were tired off salvage parts being put into newer cars so the numbers changed with very slight differences that gave headaches to the installer .020 here and such may go in but caused problems , noise etc.
14 whats the difference between the AWD and 4wd components
center diff with a viscous coupling
seems like these relatively easy know questions ( I knew them by heart) are over your head

Listen buddy, nobody gives a shit that you can kick up a bunch of random vague questions and expect me to answer. You want to impress me with your knowledge..... go learn something other than a few auto questions.
What do you know about diesels?
What do you know about powershift transmissions in tractors?
What do you know about carburetors? Ever even work on one?
Ever had an injection pump apart?
How about a 10 speed Roadranger?
Ever rebuild a Rockwell front axle on a 6X6 Oshkosh?
You talk about your auto trans rebuilding ability..... what brands? How many different brand trans have you done? Ford, Chrysler, Saturn, Allison, Mitsubishi, Chevrolet???
Ever rebuild manual trans? Clark's, Eaton Fuller, Getrag, New Process, New Venture, Borg Warner, IH, John Deere, Case, Case IH...... come on man. Get a life seriously. You have such a limited experience, I really have wasted too much time on you already.
Ever take a turbocharger apart?
How about a manual valve body on a powershift in an IH?
Ever put a torque amplifier in an IH tractor?
How about change out a differential in one?
Ever even split a tractor for a clutch?
Have you ever even rebuilt a 350 SB Chevy? If so, how many??
How about a 4.3L Chevy?
How about Detroit? Ever work on any of those?
Ever ran the rack on an old 2 stoke?
Ever tune a set of Detroit twins to run together? Do you even know what that is?
Ever had a diesel run away while you are standing next to it? Did you remain calm and get it shut down, or run away screaming like a little girl?
Ever rebuild a Detroit? How about a Cat, Cummins, IH, JD or even a Fairbanks Morse?

Ever convert a truck from an automatic to a manual trans?
Do you know the difference between a rotary drilling rig and a spudder?
Ever work on a drilling rig?
How about a pulling machine?
Have you ever seen an old Cooper double drum pulling machine, or work on one?
How about a Bucyrus Erie?
Ever pull the jackshaft out of a pulling rig to rebuild the clutches? Except, they don't make parts for machines made in the 1920's, so you have to build all new components and put them back in.
Ever have to move a dozer that blew the motor up in it? Or put a motor in one in the field?
Ever swap the engine out on a combine? In the field.... or in a shop?
Ever seen what too much ether in an engine really can do?
How about a PTO on a manual trans in a truck. Ever built one? Changed one.... seen one?
Ever ran a winch truck?
How about a semi?
Do you have a motorcycle license?
Ever take the tracks off a dozer?
Ever even sat on a bulldozer?
Ever ran a backhoe?
How rebuild a valve stack on one? (Backhoe)
Do you know what a PFC hydraulic system is? Can you tell me how they work?
What do you know about hydraulics?
Ever rebuild a hydrostat?
Do you know what a dipper relay is? Can you give me 2 examples of where they might be used?
I could go on like this for an hour. It's ridiculous how many different types, brands, sizes, machines, cars, trucks...... sigh....... tractors, combines, engines, transmissions, rear ends, axles..... on and on and on, that I've worked on. You have a nice little corner of the market you think you have all figured out. That's great man. But I'm done playing with you. It's so silly you think I can't answer the questions. I mean, the EVAP question... really?? I know how the Tier 4 diesel engines emission system works and you want to know if I can answer an EVAP question? I'm just not interested in playing games. Not worth my time. This is seriously like arguing with a kid.
