Can't say I have ever worked on a Monza, but it sounds similar to the Chevrolet two tons in the mid 80's with big blocks. Had holes in the fender to change the plugs. At least they weren't below the frame rail completely. Changing the plugs in an S-10 Blazer is about that bad though. You know how a spark plug socket has a hex head on the end where the rachet attaches? Yeah.... because sometimes that's the only way you can use it.

Didn't they also use that slant 4 in industrial applications?
Never understood what the goal was in the slant motors. Apparently, whatever it was didn't pan out. That wasn't a design that stuck, lol.
I've found the s10 blzrs are easier to get to # 3 plug by removing the bolts holding the saginaw to the frame and moving it just enough to get to the plug.
Now lets not mention the heater core replacement or the oil cooler lines,----
or the 4.3 leaking intake gaskets, GRRRRRR
my family still have about 4 in the fleet including my '05.
