I checked the temp via the PCM, by the way. It was fine. Did not match the gauge. Incidentally, today I noticed the volt gauge was also reading high. Checked that against a DVOM. That gauge too is off/high. Thinking I may have a ground issue for the gauge cluster.

I said sort of because V30 said there are 2 "sensors" I was just pointing out the reason why one should be called a sender and the other should be called a sensor. In 91 they are both pretty basic devices but was pointing out if you called parts store for a replacement and call out the sender, you will get the sender not the sensor. The debate happened earlier on in this convo when you assumed I didn't know the difference. Anyway.. No big deal. I know you "Jon" know the difference and have no doubt you know exactly how to test both.
