I'm kinda late to the party here...

Did you tighten up the front axle "C" channel before painting?
Also, I'd figure on new tie rod ends all the way around and a new axle pivot pin and maybe even bushings if they really need it.
Go through the steering box and tighten it up, replace parts where needed, like the cam follower, and add the "super steer" bearing kit as well.
And adjust the toe in as directed in the FSM so it steers nice and straight with minimal steering effort. You will be glad you did first time you drive it out the door.
Nothing better than to mount a "restored " Cub and have it steer as it did when new, nice 'n' tight like a German virgin.
