Kohler makes a lube for the helix on the shaft, I have some.
I can provide pix if necessary.
it is the consistency of lubriplate white grease.
They caution to apply lightly.
That said,
Collected dust/dirt in real life impedes the sliding motion as it collects on the helix/worm.
In colder weather, below freezing. it is more problematic.
Now this is just some old man's findings and not meant to be a rebuttal or argumentative.
When I get one that likes to stick (M-18's) it gets a shot of garage door lube or what ever lube I have handy----till next time.
