I understand all the concerns. We work on some pretty large generators here as well. 400hz A/C for larger aircraft and 28.8 VDC 2000 amp units for regional jets and smaller. Not much room for error on those when dealing with highly sensitive aircraft components..So my plan is to have a couple of analog meters attached to unit to monitor hz and volts which will allow me to achieve proper base RPM. The Briggs 11 Hp governor is not any more complicated than that of the 12 Hp Kohler. I suspect some droop in voltage here and there but within reason. Sure would be nice to have a electric throttle driver control to manage RPM like on larger gen sets but that would be overkill in my opinion. I doubt I will be running anything real sensitive with it. Lights, maybe a circular saw here and there "not my porter cable" but a cheap one I dont care much about. I wont be using this for power outage situations.. I have a back up generator for that. I will post some readings from the gen set once I get it up and running.
