"Brinkley" doesn't build a box blade. Brinly does.... So does Agri-Fab IIRC.

The IH #40 box blade is about 100 times heavier than the cheap Brinly one they make now.

If you want a good one, you should look at the one Gannon made.

If you think you can build one, build it like an IH #40 or a Gannon. If you look, they are made just like box blades for larger tractors. Being close to the tractor isn't going to really make any difference if you know how to operate it. A mounted blade will be affected by the tractor's track PERIOD. If you want a box blade that levels well, and isn't affected (much if any) by the tractor, build a pull type with about a 6' or 8' tongue.
