The close in box is made that way so that you will be able to lift it with a non-hydraulic, manual lift.
The more the attachment is moved away from the tractor, the harder it is to lift.
If you have hydraulic lift, you can move the box back,,, a little,,
even a hydraulic lift will struggle, if you move it back too far.
Build it light,, 1/8" is plenty, no fancy cutting edge, too much weight.
