Mostly tore down the 54GT it came with. It seems ok but enough bearings were gacked I just ordered a whole new set along with seals. Gonna do a preservative/functional paint job on it to keep it as an option for the spring.
Figured I could slap the 48GT from my 782 onto it and do a bit of mowing/leaf chopping yet this fall. Also wanted to get a couple decent heat cycles on the engine and re-check head bolts.
Got the deck hung and hooked up. It’s got the small pulley on it from being mounted on the 782 so it spins the deck a little faster than it’s supposed to.
Tractor ran perfect. This thing is a monster with that deck. Ran it at about 80% throttle even. Maybe a function of bigger tires or a little more weight or power steering, but it’s a silky smooth ride.
Definitely the most comfortable to operate cub I’ve got. Almost too comfortable.
Time to service the hydro and double check the bolts in the rear, but this one is definitely going to stick around.
