If you (general term) research the social skills of someone with high intelligence, you’ll find they tend to have weak/poor social skills. They often come off as rude or arrogant (think Steve Jobs or Elon Musk). So the way Jonathan acts shows that he is a very intelligent person. Out of his thousands of posts, you can probably count on one hand the amount of times he was wrong about the topic. When he is wrong, he admits it. He even feels terrible when he gives someone incorrect information.
And yes, there are two sides to every story. His side goes like this: He has no idea why he was put in time out. When someone gets put in time out, they get a notification with a reason. There was no reason this time. So as I said earlier...petty.
