It is a blade and most quality paints should hold up quite well, as long as you use hardener, etc. It kind of depends on what you plow, too. If you plow gravel or a gravel road, then it is going to scratch no matter what paint you use. If you plow snow on concrete or asphalt, then rocks on it might scratch it but not as bad, obviously. If your son is that anxious, then you might consider getting or making a stencil with his favorite cartoon character and paint it on the front of the blade or maybe just a smiley icon with something like "Have A Nice Day!" on it. Have some fun with it!!!

That is a great idea!! He loves that idea seeing as how he will be using it to plow driveways and make money on base this winter ( I'm just the transporter). Thank you for the great idea and info, it's much appreciated!!
