Sam, I thought the same thing... one of the shafts was supposedly an 1864 shaft but I never verified it... It did come from a reputable Cub Cadet parts dealer.. So then I pulled it back out and in the meantime I had purchased another shaft from a friend that parted an 1864... low and behold both are the same length.. He did verify that he only had an 1864 shaft since that was the only Cyclops he had ever parted out. Do you happen to have the different lengths for the different models or know where I could find a list?
Last night just for the heck of it I tried to fit the grille assy... nope , no go.. the muffler and shield are too far forward Somewhere in the neighborhood of 3/4" to 1"..
I am in full agreement with you.... the 1641/1864 plate should have worked.. Leave it to me to get ahold of an oddball or hybrid plate!
I started to re drill the KT plate last night based on some other members drawings and what they did.. Everybody I find that has done this used a re drilled KT plate?
At this point it doesn't really matter... I am just curious with the Cyclops and the 82 series frames supposedly being the same why didn't it work?
