I had a place up here, just like it. Magnin's Hardware. Owned by Chub Magnin. I was in that store with my dad when I was still in diapers. He had EVERYTHING we ever needed, never had to order anything. The building had a wood floor, creaked as you moved over it. Everyone knew everyone...
Sadly old Chub died a few years ago. Had to be in his upper 80's, or 90. Now all
that's left is a empty building.
Another one that's coming up is my local Cub dealer. This guy normally has everything I need in stock, if not he'll have it in a few days. Call him, and his wife answers the phone, so I spend ten minutes with her catching up on things before I can talk to the boss.

But they are looking at retiring here soon. And there ain't no one going to stick their neck out to buy the business, being how Cub Cadet is nowadays...
So it is sad. All these good old shops, stores are soon to be nothing but a memory.
