Gas engine was my thought as well, got to be pretty rare in that size machine. I had an ID-9 once. It was a fencerow find, too far gone to save. Used dry engine sleeves and the rain water in the cylinder froze and cracked the blocks. I sold it to a guy in eastern NC for parts, he was accumulating some junkers to fix a couple up.
