It was a while ago,, I am working from memory here,,,

but, I wanted the brakes to work a little better on a 128 I was tinkering with,,

after installing new pads,, I still wanted better,,

I epoxied a square of 1/16" thick stainless steel sheet on the pad where the rotating cam contacts the pad.
The piece of stainless was about 1 inch X 1 inch, one piece for each side.

The stainless steel has much lower friction, so, the cam applies more pressure, with less pedal pressure,,
