Today was nice, so I got the 126 off and ran it around some. The Kohler runs better than I hoped. Smooth as it gets from an engine that's sat so long.
PO told me when I bought it that he wouldn't expect it to be able to mow again without some work, but I tried it and the mower functioned great. New blades are needed but it cut the little grass we have growing so far nicely.
It's a lot different to drive than my 1811. Two turn steering is nice without hydrostat around obstacles. I love the manual tranny. The engine has great power, it was rebuilt in the 90s, and hasn't seen many hours since. Takes right off in 3rd at 1/3 throttle, hums along at full throttle, and only misses a little at idle.
I gotta say though, it has more slop in the steering than any tractor I use except for my 1863. Overall a steal for $250, and the more I play with it the more I like it. Spring assist is awesome.
