If you can pull the hook down from the bottom, then you might be able to rotate it around and unscrew the rod from what is left of the button and get it to release. You might have to straighten the hook out of the bottom and that would allow it to be slid through the tube and out of the top of the lift arm. Of course, you would need to re-bend the rod at the same spot if you plan on re-using it.

It doesn’t look fun, I was trying to avoid taking the rockshaft out, but I guess I don’t have much of a choice.
