1650 back up and going
A few weeks ago I posted about a problem with the deck lift on my 1650. It would only lift one side and push the other down on the ground. Between a bathroom remodel, putting up hay, and everything else going on I hadn't had time to mess with it much lately. Thanks to the pointers I got from you guys I discovered the problem was with the lift arm on the right side. Somebody had tried to weld it to the rock shaft once before but it didn't hold. After buying a set of roll pin punches I drove out the old pin. Or at least I drove out the 3/8 of an inch that was left of it. I managed to get a new pin driven back in to replace it. I wasn't sure how well it would do, what with the wear and the welding and all, but it seems to be pretty solid with minimal play. I put it all back together and mowed with it all afternoon Monday, pleased as could be. There's still a few things to tinker with on it but I'm glad to have it in service. Then someday I can start on the 149. Thanks for all the help and advice.
Later,
Brad
