I can't say that I have heard of re-balancing as a standard procedure. Unless there was some major event, I would say you are fine.

The Kohler aluminum connecting rods break due to "metal fatigue" after being in service for 40 yrs. Longevity has a lot to do with the service, conditions, and maintenance life of the engine.
