If it was my cub cadet, I would go to the Technical Section of the forum and download the NF (narrow frame) wiring schemata for your cub cadet and then carefully trace out all of the wiring to make sure no Gremlins have overtaken it. Right away, your voltage regulator is unhooked from where it should be mounted (between the headlights). If you leave it on the heat shield and run your cub, then it will be toast real soon!!!

The mounting ears is broken off. I have to buy a new regulator, unfortunately. The heat sheild is fubared too.
