I decided it was time to dig to see what was necessary to repair the brakes on the 1862. I was hauling a large load the other nite and came to a stop on a hill, put on the emergency brake and the tractor and cart started going backwards. Tonite was the nite. I already researched how much parts would be, so I was prepared for the worst. Pulled one wheel and the 'calipers' and everything moved freely. Furthemore there was plenty of pad left. No way, it couldn't be as easy as just adjusting the clevis end!!!!!! That's it! Adjusted the brakes and they work flawlessly.
Now for the confession. The load I was carrying was

greenies He had a restored 212 with ags, tiller, thrower, blade and wheel weights. I was hauling the thrower, weights and blade in the cart
The 212 runs like a top and looks brand new. I couldn't pass it up as I would have paid about the same money for just the accessories for the 1862. So, the '62 is dedicated to mowing and the
greenie will be used for tilling and snow duty.
