I used to pick up my mail at the P.O./general store/filling station in my little town, as we didn't have a mail carrier route.
One day they closed our P.O. and gave us the post office zip of the town 2 miles away to use.
I kept my old zip/town for many years on my drivers license as it was acceptable as they promised.
Well, come the computer age and "google" maps,that didn't list our zip code
anymore causing problems getting mail as well as other legalities.
I finally got fed up fighting everyone like legal authorities/government/ law etc. and just changed my town and zip code.
I still have problems sometimes with things like my old vehicle titles and things that still reflect my old zip & town.
I tell people if you came to arrest me you will find me in the same old town I've lived in over 45 years, not the other town 2 miles away.
