Default 129 vs 149 -- You people warned me...

When I joined the forum I said I'd never get a 2nd tractor...
ya'll said I would... Seems ya'll were right...

For $75 and a u-haul rental I couldn't resist!

I've had my 149 for a year now and I DO enjoy it...
I've come to realize all the repairs it needs will be difficult to perform during mowing season cause I don't want the downtime -- so I got me a nearly complete 129 today with a 44" deck. I confess I'm very excited, all 3 spindles move freely but it does need a little patching/welding but I enjoy that kinda stuff...
So now for example I can rebuild the steering column from the 129 at my leisure and then swap it onto the 149 minimizing down-time...

According to the owner, it'd been sitting in the barn for 20 years but the engine does turn over. He was sure the hydro was good -- the hydro trunnion is smoother than on my 149 so limited hours might be true...

The engine serial # tag says K321A -- I thought that was the 14hp like on my 149? He did say his son had swapped engines around trying to get it going at some point a few years ago...

Besides the mule lift, what are the other differences between the 129 and 149? Is there anything on a 129 that I shouldn't use on a 149?

It's unintentional but both pix make it look better than it is -- all the tires are dry rotted -- the good front tire is from my 149 that I brought to make it easier to push onto the trailer...
