I picked up a 109 a few months ago that someone had cobbled a hyd piston to the lift arm. The quick attach bolt was lengthened to accept the end of the piston. The clevis end to the lift arm was crude but shouldn't be too hard to make a link to attach the piston rod. He used a hand pump to activate (probably slow) but a power steering pump would probably work fine with a simple single action hyd valve. I have a 127 with spring assist and a #1 tiller. I know what your going through with the arm strength. Not bad the first 30 times you pick up the tiller but it gets old quick if using for any length of time. I'm not going to use the piston so if you think you could use let me know.
